GALv3 Parts Kit
GALv3 Parts Kit
Description
The GALv3 Parts Kit comes with all the bits and bobs you need to create your GAL. The only things this kit doesn't include are the tools and printed parts needed for assembly. It even includes the two TPU printed parts for those who cannot print TPU. The build instructions and print files for the GALv3 can be found on the GitHub.
Features of the GALv3:
- Vertical and horizontal adjustment of the IR Laser
- 7 Modes
- Off
- IR Laser Low and High
- IR Illuminator High
- Dual IR Laser and Illuminator Low, Medium, and High
- Battery: 1x CR123A or 16340
- On-board and External Activation
- Double click for 'hold on' (5 minute timeout)
- IR Illumination: 850 or 940nm 3W LED
- IR Laser: 5mW 850nm TTL Laser
- Height: 1.3” above rail to turret, 1.1" above rail down the bore axis
- Width: 2.5”
- Length: 3.5”
- Weight: 4.7oz (135g) with battery
- Battery Life: ~7 hrs on DUAL HIGH (1550mAh CR123A)
The two variants are the Illuminator's wavelength. If using an analog night vision system, you will want to choose the 850nm option. If using a digital night vision system, either 850 or 940nm will work, with the benefit of 940nm being less visible to analog systems.
If you would like to activate your GAL via an external method (e.g. rail mounted switch), you will need to purchase that separately. The GALv3 uses the Crane Style connectors.
Crane Style Connectors can be found on devices such as the ModLite ModButton Lite (Laser Plug) which work with LAMs such as the PEQ15, MAWL, and DBAL.
I have personally tested a number of Chinese clones of these ModButton Lites, and would suggest the offerings from 'WADSN' on AliExpress.
